A new Australian program is helping overweight people of all ages “get their heads around” the fight against obesity. Ned Newman of “Never Ever Diet” has a strong message that “mind over matter” can make the difference between a lifelong struggle against weight gain, coupled with yo-yo dieting, and a healthy weight coupled with enjoyment of food.

The world is getting fatter. Despite the huge and ever growing diet industry, obesity continues to increase.

A recent report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said “The proportion of U.S. adults who are obese increased to 26.1 percent in 2008 compared to 25.6 percent in 2007”.

The agency states, “During the past 20 years there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States. Obesity is defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater. BMI is calculated from a person’s weight and height and provides a reas onable indicator of body fatness and weight categories that may lead to health problems.”

An obvious conclusion to draw from this report is that dieting just does not work. At every turn, we are implored to try this diet or to go on that diet and we are cajoled, punished and made to feel guilty for being overweight. Yet, we get heavier every year.

So if dieting makes us fatter in the long term, what are we to do?

There is a movement towards looking at the emotional causes of obesity instead of the traditional physical approaches of restrictive diets, special foods, meal replacements, pills, chemicals, surgery and tortuous exercise.

Best selling author Jon Gabriel, “The Gabriel Method”, says “Your body has an internal logic that determines how fat or thin you will be at any given time. The way to lose weight is not to struggle or to force yourself to lose weight but to understand this internal logic and work wi th it so that your body wants to be thinner.” Mt Gabriel himself lost 100 kgs before writing his life-changing book.

The UK’s top non-fiction author and hypnotist Paul McKenna, “I Can Make You Slim”, has helped millions to lose weight with his system that re-patterns your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs about yourself, your health and food.

In Weight Loss for Food Lovers, Australian MD, psychiatrist and author Dr George Blair-West writes about “our deep emotional attachment to food and the research into Restraint Theory”. He says his clients “needed to make a quantum shift in the way they approached losing weight”.

An increasing number of experts are coming to the same conclusions.

Mr Newman’s “Never Ever Diet” program has distilled the wisdom of many of these experts into a simple 21 day meditation plan to turn you into a slim person. He says “If you are overweight and on a diet, you are probably starving your body of the nutrition it needs. Dieting sends your body the worst possible wrong messages”. He states, “You can teach your mind how to make you as slim as you want to be and never ever diet again”.

Client Stacia Biddle says “This program tapped into my subconscious mind and made me pay attention to what I was eating. In fact, at this point, it has completely gotten rid of my snacking urges throughout the day”.

Gradually, people are realising that losing weight is not about what you put into your mouth. It is all about what is in your head. We have been brainwashed by Big Food with cop-outs like being fat is beyond our control, it is in our genes, our inheritance, our hormones, whatever. Or that we are lazy, greedy, self indulgent and it is our entire fault if the latest diet fails us.

It appears that obesity is a problem that we need to “get our heads around&rdq uo; if we are to defeat it.

My boyfriend has been on a steady diet and workout plan, he’s losing weight and doing really well. He just has a question that needs to be answered. He’s only been running, and lifting weights but hasn’t done any sit ups/crunches because I’ve been told that he should lose the fat first before sculpting it. Your opinion? He’s been told different things and I would to know what you think(: Thank you!

Exercise is not just a way to help you to lose weight fast. An exercise program can benefit almost any part of your lifestyle. Even minimal exercise each week can lead to huge changes in your overall health and fitness. Aerobic exercise is a terrific way to lose fat and give you a healthy heart. People who exercise regularly have so many physical benefits from those workouts that they tend to have fewer incidences of many chronic diseases as well. Diabetes, heart disease and even cancers are less prevalent in people who exercise. Daily exercise is even shown to reduce mental fatigue and depression symptoms. Since exercise increases the flow of fresh, oxygenated blood throughout your body, you also tend to recover more quickly from any type of injury. All-in-all, exercise is so beneficial that you really must add it to your diet program

I lost weight starving myself but I now learned that that makes your body hold onto fat and lose muscle. If i started losing weight the healthy way, will I look like an average person at that weight, or flabbier from starving myself?

Reducing weight is not difficult, you will need one thing, personal control. It is very simple, everything you need to do is use more calories compared to what you really consume. That is all you need to do. Really ignore each one of these celebrity diets and great new methods, simply just go and do some exercise and enjoy a wholesome and balanced diet. Individuals believe that you should only to eat salad or fruit on a regular basis, that is certainly also crap. Healthy food can be very tasty, such as, fish! Make use of the grill as opposed to the frying pan, go for a walk rather than using the car! You needn’t visit the health and fitness center, you only need to change one or two habits and the bodyweight will go.

How much could you lose in 5 weeks?

Is it possible to lose weight in just one week?

And also, how much weight could you lose in two weeks if you ate 500 calories per day?

Yea you would lose weight. But its not healthy. Your body will feel like its starving itself and you eventually will feel hungry enough and go splurge somewhere and gain the weight back. However. A 700 calorie diet isnt so bad I think. Sometimes I do it on accident. I log whatever I eat in a food journal. And I am a nurse. I work three days a week twelve hour shifts. Sometimes on those days I dont eat any more then 600-700 calories. Its not on purpose. And then I go to the gym and work out. Thing is I am sincerely not hungry. I drink so much water that my body has learned to distiguish what true hunger is. And the things I eat tend to be low calorie anyways. But its not like I do that low amount of calories everyday. My normal intake is 1200 or less. But i honestly hardly ever make it past a thousand. Its not purposeful, I just dont eat that much. So it can be unhealthy, but I have been in the gym 6 days a week and do cardio and weight lifting. I prolly lost water weight in the beginning, but I have lost body fat and have slimmed down. I really dont recommend you do that low amount of calories.

My weight is 70 kgs and i’m 175 cm. How much weight should i lose to become thin like a model or Hollywood actress. I want to be thin, not very thin but thin and fit and look good. The only sport i do are Swimming & badminton. I want to weigh about 50 to 55 kgs and what all should i eat? What should be my daily routine? Please help. Thank you.

Let me start by saying swimming and badminton are both Excellent choices for exercise. To begin the weight loss process and to make it go quickly, I suggest looking into a program. If your looking for more exercise I recommend Body of FIRE highly because it will make you skinny fast, but it is hard. For the BEST results I recommend cooking with certain foods that burn fat really well like celery, certain spices, etc (its known as metabolic cooking).

I suggest you stay swimming and playing sports and do some metabolic cooking and you will lose weight very quickly, I promise. Go to the source website and you can find a LOT of great information there and I’m sure you will find something good that you like. You will lose weight really fast with some of those things.

It’s a known fact that overweight people can lose weight quicker than people who have a lower body weight. However I would like to lose weight though. (Purely Cosmetic reasons) I already have a healthy body weight a very healthy diet and appropriate moderate exercise for the amount of calories I eat.

My question is how can I go from 113 lbs to about 100 lbs in a healthy way? (5’3")

By doing lots of cardio. Running / jogging is your best bet.

Your weight doesn’t really matter anyway. it is your body figure just drink lots of water and exercise make your body sweat so that you can sweat water which makes you skinnier

When people begin losing weight, and they lose a lot of weight in a short period of time – how much of it is usually water weight? Like, how much water weight can you lose before you start losing the fat? I have been dieting and working out, and lost 10 lb this past 2 weeks – but I am pretty sure almost all of that is water weight. Is it possible to lose 10 lb of just water? I am 5’1 and weighed 142 lb when I started.

that is good 10lbs is not bad. I think that is a sign that you can lose your weight in short period of time. 5 lbs water weight that you can lose is enough for two to three weeks (my personal experience)

I need to lose weight in 8 weeks. I weigh around 127lbs, and I want to lose as much weight as possible.

Please, I’m going on an awesome vacation and I need tips, food recipes, exercise tips, WHATEVER it takes.

Take note: If you’re going to say losing weight fast is not as effective as losing weight steadily and slowly, I KNOW, but I’m desperate, so yes, please do try to answer the question! Thank you!

Simple math. You have to burn more calories per day than you take in.

Whether it is thru exercise, cardio, whatever.
