I am currently doing a research paper on problems and solutions. The problem I chose is obesity, and I have to come up with various solutions that will work. So far for childhood obesity, I said that education on obesity and health along with mandatory p.e. will help prevent obesity in the future.

What are some other methods that will combat obesity in general?

I think the most important is a diet education from as early as possible. Don’t let bad habits start early, it will be difficult to change bad habits. Eating healthy and having a sweet tooth once in a while, like on a weekend that you pig out won’t do you any harm.

I have a slow metabolism, always have, and can’t seem to get it to increase, What is a good pill to combine with exercise and dieting, either over the counter, prescription, or natural.

Don’t take a pill or supplement for boosting your metabolism. Those things are mainly just caffeine pills and are horrible for you.
Instead, eat foods that are proven to boost your metabolism, such as grapefruit, honey, most vegetables, and various other healthy foods you can look up on Google.
If you insist on trashing your mental abilities and putting your heart into overdrive by taking a supplement for boosting metabolisms, take Lipo6x. It’s no worse for you than the others and the side effects are minimal. However, I do not recommend taking any of that garbage. You can accomplish more with just a good diet and exercise routine.

I’m a bit confused. I’m doing a problem solution essay about obesity and wrote that one solution is reducing one’s intake of saturated fats, but other than lower health risks I can’t seem to find how it affects weight and obesity. Can you help me out? Thanks!

Cutting saturated fat helps lower cholesterol levels. In terms of obesity cutting the overall fat content consumed will help, but ultimately it is about the amount of calories you consume in a day versus the amount used up. Keeping within the calorie recommendations for your age and gender, reducing fat consumption and taking regular exercise will help achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

What are some of the long term consequences that these children can face in their lifetime? What does the Web site tell you about obesity that you were not aware of before? Explain what you have learned.

because the parents dont really care what goes in their bodies.
these children basically feed themselves, eating what ever is on the counter. meaning chips, cookies, and juices from the fridge.
pop, snacks.
its really sad, i have a cousin like this. she’s 4.
i feel so bad for her, cause she the sweetest little thing.

I need the scientific names of the parts.

Ideally, I would like the names of the fats that get really large, etc… I know about the heart and kidneys and stuff, but I need the names of the fats that directly get really large due to obesity. The scientific names of the fat sections/tissues please. Thanks!

Not sure if fats can get bigger(other than longer chain length), fat cells and fat tissue can get larger.

Triacylglycerol is the scientific name of fats. Adipose tissue is the bodies fat storage site.

Just wiki those two and you should be able to find the info you want. Or wiki fat.

On re-reading the question: you legs will be affected; increased weight means increased pressure on joints. Skin will be affected; fat folds can get skin sores in their creases from friction. The whole body will be fed with less oxygenated blood as it has to work much harder to get through the circulatory system due to compressed and clogged vessels.

I am doing a research paper on chilhood obesity for my english class. I already have the causes, effects,prevention, and statistics of childhood obesity. All i need to write now is how childhood obesity is a present and future threat to america. Any ideas or links to articles will be greatly appreciated.

Rather or not one supports the currents wars that America is in, we do need a military and the obesity of children will threaten our ability to protect ourselves in the future. The military has released reports stating a lot of recruits have been turned away due to their physical condition.

Also, being overweight increases the health problems in kids which could lead to more days missed at school. Our education system is already struggling to educate kids so the more school a kid misses do to illnesses, the least likely he/she is going to grow up to be a doctor, engineer, scientist, inventor, etc. Then there’s payment of the illnesses, cost of insurance will go up for everyone.

So not only will be not be able to protect ourselves from outside forces, we won’t be able to support or care for ourselves, we will be at the mercy of other powerful nations, and that is never a good thing.

I am looking to lose about 20 pounds, and I was wondering if anybody had any specific dieting tips, shortcuts, or suggestions. Or even a suggestion on some simple/affordable decent home workout equipment.

Only people that like to fail look for shortcuts. I have never met anyone who has successfully taken the weight off and kept it off that used a shortcut, it just does not work. So the the idea of a shortcut out of your head.

Tips:
1. Stop eating so much, I dont care if its a "healthy" food, it does not matter. You should only concern yourself with calories. You want a low calorie diet, try 1200 calories a day

2. If your not writing everything your eating and how much and how many calories, your lying to yourself. You are having way more calories than you think you are having. Its that simple. You may think your having 1200 calories a day, but your really probably having more than 1500 if your not writing it down.

3. Goto calorieking.com and look up everything you eat, how many calories, and how much a serving is

4. A serving of cereal does not mean a whole bowl of cereal, same goes for any other food. LOOK AT THE BOX FOR SERVING SIZE

4. Stop eating out

5. Exercise everyday. No baby stuff, no walking on the treadmill. Don’t be a big baby like almost everyone on yahoo answers. Hard work shows results, not being lazy. You should workout with weights 45 minutes a day and then do cardio for 45 minutes right after and NO WALKING, JOG AT LEAST.

6. You can never in your lift go back to your crappy diet that you are following right now. You are on a diet for the rest of your life.

7. You are to exercise at least 3x a week for the rest of your life

8. Forget the home equipment, dont be lazy. Get out the house and goto the gym. I do not know a single person that has seen decent results from home. Only lazy people want to workout at home. Is it really going to kill you to jump into your car and drive to the gym??? This may be your main problem

9. Do not waste your time with situps or other ab exercises. Anyone who told you or thinks that ab exercises will make your stomach flat is a fool. Diet and exercise make your stomach flat, not ab exercises. Ab exercises build abs, not cause you to lose the fat over your abs. Look up "spot reduction" and you will see there is no such thing.

10. Lose all your fat or overweight friends. They are the reason you are overweight. They do not want you to lose weight, they don’t want you to be successful. They are going to sabotage you anyway they can. Intentionally or not, they do not want to be fat and see you thin. They will keep you fat. Fat people are your enemies, they do not want to see you successful

In my home all members eat oily food and I want to do dieting. So can any one please tell me some easy tips of dieting.

Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you’re full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

There are loads of great exercise tapes that you can find on amazon and other websites. If I were you I would get one with a hot topless male showing you the exercises!!! Exercising is the best way to lose weight, because you can choose where you lose it from!
Don’t bother with a diet, jut try to cut out snacking or get some healthier meals!
