I am 50 years old and do not eat fried foods or any fattening foods yet I cannot seem to lose weight. I lost 50 pounds and am now stuck. I still need to lose about that much more. What are the best foods to help lose weight and what should I avoid? I have lupus and cannot do strenous exercise.

Check out webMD. Lots of research has been done into the metabolism boosting qualities in green tea. Also soy products, like tofu, soy milk, etc. are known to soothe the less pleasant effects of menopause.

I have early stage graves disease and it has made losing weight one of the most annoying and frustrating things ever. I have cut out fast food, eat less chocolate, eaten more healthier foods, I walk everyday and nothing. I have maybe lost two pounds but I need to lose more than that.

Duvet,

Trying to lose weight with an underworking thyroid is like a bird trying to fly without wings. Remember, thyroids regulate the speed of your metabolism, and this is crucial to ensure an effective use of foods and distribution of macronutrients in your system.

There are things wich use you should decrease, while there are other things you should remove permanently if you want to see results. By the way, chocolate, coffe, dairies, eggs, soy, cabbgae, broccoli and its whole family, white sugar, fried foods, sodas and high-stress proteins should be completely removed form your diet.

Duvet, dare to go on raw foods for at least 45 days. You will not regret it. When you do so, more than 300 enzymatic complexes in your body will be reset, and chances are that your thyroid may respond fantastically to it. One thing I know: you’ll be benefitted greatly, even if your thyroids do not recover 100%.

Vitamin B6, Iodine from natural sources (kelp, seaweed, etc.), Magnesium, and–since you have Grave’s Disease–an immune modulator like Transfer Factor Plus or others similar, will help you great deal.

Good luck! :)

I am 5’3” and 125 lbs, and I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a long time, and i have lost up to 5-10 pounds but ive always ended up gaining it back. I just cant give in to not eating sweets. I am mainly concerned about my thighs, they are the worst part of my body. Does anybody have good diet tips, or ways to lose weight in my thighs?

It sounds like you already know that you should be sticking to a pretty good diet, so I won’t go over it. But here are 3 of the my favorite thigh exercises and they will help tone and tighten.

The Squeezes work very well on both your thighs and butt.

Oblique V-ups: Lying on the floor on your side, hands crossed over your chest, keep your legs together and lift them off of the floor about 4-5 inches. At the same time scrunch your body so that the elbow on the top side of you body moves a bit towards your top leg. You’ll feel it in your legs, hips and side. Do 10 repetitions on each side and do this 2 times a day. You will feel this in your legs, sides and although you should not feel this in your back, the oblique muscles will be working to tighten the fat across your back.

Side leg lifts: Again lying on your side, lower leg slightly bent, raise your upper leg slowly to the count of 10. Do this 15 times for each leg and do 2 sets. You should feel this in your inner and outer thighs and hip area.

Squeezes: This is perfect for inner and outer thighs and butt. While standing with your feet shoulder length apart, knees bent so that your knees are over your toes, squeeze your inner thighs
and pull yourself up to a standing position using your thigh muscles. Then lower yourself again without squeezing then start again. I do about 50 of these a day, scattered out during the day. You should not feel it in your knees and if you do it means that either you are lowering yourself too fat or you are not using your thigh and butt muscles to lift you up,

eat sensibly and dont eat the things you shouldnt be eating
count calories at www.calorieking.com

or 250-500 less than you usually do
keep a journal of what you eat in a day
exercise, exercise, exercise!

It sounds ridiculous, but my boobs always seem to shrink the most whenever I’m losing weight. I’ve switched my workout routine around many different times… but that seems to be the place I lose weight the most.
Any ideas for avoiding the weight loss in my boobs? I’ve worn two sports bras and avoided certain arm exercises that would seem to make them smaller.
It’s just frustrating seeing the one thing shrink that I want to stay the same.
>I’m not going to get implants…lol.
>And, it’s not that my boobs are at all small, so I don’t need a wonderbra…they just get smaller than I’d like them to be.

its impossible to reduce weight in only certain areas
when you lose weight, you lose it all over
im sorry to say that means your boobs get smaller too

Ok so i am 17 and i am 5’4 and i weigh 160 pounds. I am planning to start the lemonade diet which says that i am not allowed to eat for about 10 days. Many people say that this gives excellent results and they feel energized. They also lost weight instantly but i heard you gain weight right back. Is there some way i can continue to lose weight even after i stop the lemonade diet? like say double up on my cardio work?
**Please no silly answers!

This diet is total BS and you should not do it. Not eat for 10 days? Get real. Your body needs food! You may lose weight at first but you will definitely gain it back because not eating will make your metabolism completely slow down and 10 days will be detrimental for that.

I am gaining weight by not doing much.I have had 3 surgeries on my knees.I have a degenerative bone disease and I cannot walk alot or run because its painful and will make it worse.I dont want to sit around and gain weight. I used to be very active.Just diesting is not doing much.Does anyone have any ideas on how to work out and lose weight without running or walking? Maybe a diet? HELP!

Get an indoor bike, if you ride casual, you will not put to much pressure on your knees – if you can! Diet should be protein based with vegetables. Get some dumbbells so you can do upper body training, shoulder press, arm curls, chest, back, triceps. You could do leg raises, squats using dumbbells in each hand (if you can), sit-ups for stomach.

How can I lose weight fast, without taking any pills or drugs?
I’m concerned about my health. I’m very unhealthy and overweight. Its not so much what my body looks like, but more of how I feel and how my health is. My mother has diebeties, and if I’m going to keep myself from getting it, I need to lose weight.
Is there a fast way to lose weight?

Make sure you eat healthy and exercise. You can try walking and biking more. It works really well, to lose weight that way, especially during the spring/summer. Good luck losing weight!

I have a typical pear shape and it is very difficult to lose weight without looking sickly up top. But I’ve been on a diet to lose some extra pounds, and already have lost a ton, but my lower half is still so huge in comparison to my upper half. Are there any good exercises that will target my butt and thigh areas in particular?

I was overweight all throughout high school, and couldn’t really pinpoint what the problem was. I tried to eat right. I tried to exercise at least 3 days per week. I tried to limit my calorie intake. None of this seemed to produce any noticeable results. Well, it’s been four years since high school, and I’ve just recently found a program that I have successfully lost 55 pounds with! Sound impossible? Think again… they guarantee your success, and if you follow the program, I do too. They offer helpful tips right on there front page! Here’s the link:
